Introduction

Thanks to the efforts and preparations made since the preparatory meeting held virtually on 15 December 2021, the Kick-off Meeting of WMO RA II Pilot Project on Public-Private Engagement for Smart Meteorological Services in Mega-Cities (PPE-SMSC) took place online for two hours during 08:00-10:0 (UTC) on 25 February 2022, an event that ushered in a new phase in the pioneering initiative and endeavor. The four-part meeting was online attended by about 25 participants from WMO Secretariat, WMO RA II, WMO Technical Commissions, CMA, HKO and SMG.
